Zimbabwe's main Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer producer, Sables Chemicals, has been closed.
According to Zbc News the company has not been operating for the past two weeks after ZESA cut off electricity supplies over an unpaid debt.
It is understood that Sable Chemicals owes ZESA around US$10 million.
Sables Chemicals has a capacity to produce 250 000 tonnes of fertilizer per annum.
Efforts to get a comment from the company's authorities were fruitless as the company's telephones went unanswered. It is not clear how long the suspension of operations will last.
ZESA could not confirm whether power had been disconnected or not.l certainly speed up development.
