Lighthouse Print has installed the latest HP Latex wide format printer, just over four months after it was launched in Munich, Germany, on May 20. It is the first Zimbabwean company to acquire this ground-breaking technology.
The HP Latex printer utilises third generation HP Latex printing technologies, which include water-based inks that help ensure a healthy working environment.
It combines high quality with speed and efficiency. Its six printheads, with 12 672 nozzles, produce consistently sharp images. It is a six-colour printer, printing 1 200 dots per inch (dpi).
The inks' scratch resistance quality enables outdoor prints to last for up to three years unlaminated. If laminated, they can last for up to five years.
"Jobs that would previously have taken us a day to complete can now be done within a few hours," commented Lighthouse Print managing director Fidelis Manyangadze.
"We are known for the quality of our printing and design work and for fulfilling orders on time. Our acquisition of the latest HP wide format printer enables us to provide an even better service, when it comes to turnaround times for wide format printing and the sharp images that the latest latex printer produces," he said.
"We are proud to be the first Zimbabwean company to install this printer, which truly can be said to be a state-of-the-art printer, having only been launched on the market internationally a little over four months ago in Germany."
The new HP Latex printer can print on a variety of materials. Lighthouse Print, in addition to its wide format printers, also has litho printers and digital printers, as well as a folding machine that can do up to 27 500 folds in an hour.
Its litho printing presses, which include a four colour printing press, can print up to 60 000 A4 sheets per hour. They are ideal for printing large quantities of printed material at a low cost but with excellent print quality.
Its digital printers enable the company to print instantly business cards, short run quantities of flyers and A3 and A4 print-outs, which can be printed while the customer waits.
Where requested, prints can be given a matt or glossy laminate or an ultra-glossy varnish (UV).
Digital printing is ideal too for labels for canned foodstuffs, wine bottles or any other item that needs labelling.
Mr Manyangadze cannot speak highly enough of his company's latest acquisition.
"It is simply world class print technology. The high speed, sharpness, uniformity, crisp text, pure natural vibrant colours, detailed shadows and bright highlights will certainly enhance any company's brand.
"The HP Latex printer takes our print quality to a higher dimension than ever before. We have always been confident that our print quality would be competitive even in high-tech countries such as Japan and Germany. However, to remain competitive it is necessary to keep abreast of the latest printing technology and make use of it.
"This new printer incorporates the latest HP latex technologies and confirms our ability to compete with the best anywhere," he said.
Lighthouse Print has a design department to complement its printing work. The company's young, innovative and creative design team designs business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, logos, brochures, newsletters, banners, greeting cards, annual reports posters, billboards, signage and many other print-related products.
"We make our clients' thoughts a reality. Where they require design work, we are able to provide them with a creative design for whatever it is that they wish us to print. We then go on, once they have approved the design, to print and deliver printed material that fulfils and generally exceeds their expectations," Mr Manyangadze said.
"To keep ahead of our competitors we believe it is important to invest in the latest technology. It is our modern technology coupled with the dedication and professionalism of our staff that enables us to provide high quality services and deliver them quickly and efficiently," he said.
"Our acquisition of the latest HP Latex printer gives us an added competitive advantage, enabling us to provide large prints that are of an international standard at a competitive price.
"We are deeply grateful to God for the growth that we are experiencing in our business," he said.
