14 May 2015 Press Statement:

It is Now 28 months for Marvo workers still counting without pay. Though it doesn't look like there would be a solution any time soon.

The management and shareholders are enjoying their normal life at the expance of staving Marvo workers.

They still enjoy their allowances fuel, airtime, school fees, etc.

While the workers have nothing, for the past 40years or more Marvo has always been giving its workers Tea with milk but this year they stopped it, the workers no longer have protective clothing, no running Bcc water, no raw material the situation is too bad.

It is disgusting to even think that this unfortunate inhumane treatment is happening now here in a democratic and independent Zimbabwe.

Marvo workers have since become destitute in their in their own Motherland. At Marvo you find a situation where a man is staying some where else, while his wife stays some where else with children while the property is somewhere else, because they can no longer afford paying house, and are in debt most of the times they are being taken care of by friends and relatives while for those who are not so lucky they stay in the bush or squatter camps around the City of Bulawayo.

As workers Representatives we are pained by the fact that we are not able to help those that we lead because we are EQUALLY affected.

Most of us are failing to pay our house rentals, food, school fees and medical expances among other Equally important dailly needs.

The leadership at Marvo and even the Country/government are happy living luxurious and expansive live at the expanse of us. One would be tempted to believe that what is happening at Marvo is part of the 1979 Grandplan to dis empower the people of Mathebeleland.

As the workers we have lost faith in the Justice system especially the Labour Court they take too long to finalise cases we believe that justice delayed is justice denied.

The Marvo issue is urgent attention because its a bread and butter issue.

The government has let down poor workers in this City of Bulawayo we have been neglected for far too long and this is unacceptable.

May the government of Zimbabwe please stop Mpilo Hospital from attaching our pproperty and taking us to Court because its not our faulty that we are failing to pay our debts its our employer's faulty and also Mayuyu BCC siyabhadala ngani imithelo singaholi? Starving Marvo Workers
