Delma Lupepe appointed Zimpapers chairman

BULAWAYO businessman Delma Lupepe has been appointed as the chairman of Zimbabwe Newspapers (1980) Limited.
Mr Lupepe replaces Dr Charles Utete who stepped down from the board last month. Mr Lupepe has been a board member since 2009. Prior to his appointment, he served as the group's chairman of Human Resources committee.
In a statement yesterday, Zimpapers said Mr Lupepe - a renowned businessman and philanthropist - replaced Dr Charles Utete, who stepped down last month, while Mr Deketeke takes over from Mr Justin Mutasa.
Zimpapers, which is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, is the country's biggest media house with interests in the printing, broadcasting and publishing industry.
The company publishes three daily newspapers, The Herald, H-Metro and Chronicle; two national Sunday papers, The Sunday Mail and Sunday News; two national language newspapers, Kwayedza and Umthunywa, the Mutare-based Manica Post and Bulawayo based B-Metro.
