The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority says that Zimbabwe needs more ethanol producers so that the pricing of the blends will be reduced in the long run for the consumers.
The regulatory authority has been working flat out in making the bio-fuel affordable and as well benefiting the communities who work for ethanol producers.
Zera's chief executive Engineer Gloria Magombo said that this will increase competition.
"As the energy regulator, we feel that as the country has many producers, the more this will benefit the ones at the receiving end," she said.
Engineer Magombo added that the need for more producers will be critical in reducing unemployment in the country.
She said that currently the Green Fuel Chisumbanje employs about 200 people hence the competition increase leading to even more jobs being created.
