Gamu Nhengu has reportedly failed in her bid to stay in the UK and will soon be deported back to Zimbabwe.
The 19 year old singer shot to fame on the 2010 UK X-Factor series, in which she quickly became a fan favourite but found herself at the centre of a huge furore after Cheryl Cole failed to choose her for the live shows.
Having lived in Scotland for the last five years, Gamu's life got even more complicated at the end of 2010, when immigration officials refused to approve her family's latest visa application, because mum Nokutula claimed state benefits which she was technically not entitled to.
She has since appealed the decision and it was widely believed that she, her mum and her brother would be allowed to stay in Britain. However UK The Sunday Mirror claims that she will soon receive the worst news.
A source told the newspaper:
"Gamu and her family will hear shortly that their appeal to stay has failed.
"The view was that there is no legitimate reason why they cannot return to Zimbabwe as the situation there is stable. Just because somebody becomes a celebrity, does not mean they have a right to stay in the UK."
