Jah Prayzah postpones wedding following death of Wicknell Chivayo

Award-winning Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah has announced the postponement of his wedding following the tragic death of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy and others who reportedly lost their lives in a fatal road accident.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Jah Prayzah said the sudden loss had left him and his fiancée, Rufaro Mukombe, deeply heartbroken.
"The sudden loss of our dear brother Sir Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy, and all those who lost their lives in this tragic accident has left us deeply heartbroken," the musician wrote.
Jah Prayzah described Chivayo as more than just a friend, saying the businessman had been like family and had walked closely with him through many chapters of life.
"Wicknell was more than a friend to us. He was family, a brother, and someone who walked closely with us through many chapters of life. Losing him together with Lucy in such a sudden way is a pain that is difficult to put into words," he said.
The musician also extended his condolences to all families affected by the tragedy, saying his thoughts and prayers were with those grieving the loss of loved ones.
As a mark of respect and to allow time for mourning, Jah Prayzah said he and Rufaro had decided to postpone their wedding, which had been scheduled for 3 October.
"Out of love, respect and the need to grieve with family, our wedding which was scheduled for 3 October has been postponed," he said.
He added that the couple would proceed with their wedding plans at a later date when the time felt appropriate.
