The hit song, Mbulali, meaning murderer, has touched Zimbabwean listeners' hearts. It relates how people's rights are victimised global.
The Khezi-born Sgabadi (23), who has performed with many various groups and stage theatres, says her music does not borrow verses from the Bible but has its lyrics inspired by genuine social life realities.
"I am offering something different. We have seen people suffering at the hands of our political leaders. I am not meddling in politics but telling it as it is," said Sgabadi, a staunch Christian who attends the 12 Apostolic Church.
"All my songs reflect events transpiring in everyday life, and I urge fellow musicians to help incorporate social issues into their music.
The Majority of our people are Christians and if we put social issues in gospel, we will be able to advocate for a better society," she said.
"I am embarking on a long road which will see me persecuted, but I am not scared."
