SOUTH African jazz musician Ringo Madlingozi and Zimbabwean superstar Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi are set to share the stage at a pre-Valentines Bash to be held at the Large City Hall on February 13.

The duo that made the 1999 hit-track Into Yami and last performed together in Bulawayo 10 years ago, will be supported by DJs Josh, KeithO and Dash Zimbabwe.

Tuku's manager Sam Mataure said they were geared up for the show in Bulawayo.

"We last performed in Bulawayo with Ringo more than 10 years ago. This show is significant because the two artistes will be rekindling the past glory that saw them record a remake of Into Yami," Mataure said.

Quizzed if there were plans to collaborate with Ringo again, Mataure said they were in talks with his management.

He said Tuku would perform with his full band and churn out tracks off his latest 10-track album Mukombe Wemvura.

"We're coming there on February 12 in order to prepare for the concert the next day. It'll be a full band not a stripped one like the one we brought when we performed there last month," Mataure said.

This will be the fourth time Tuku will be in the city in a space of two months with the added presence of Ringo expected to attract many fans of the icons to the show.

Tuku met up with Ringo in 2000 and the two remade Ringo's hit-track Into Yami. On the track, Tuku sings some parts in Shona while Ringo does other verses in Xhosa. The track was received well in both countries.
