THE hilarious Mahlalela drama comedy featuring popular South African musician Freddy Gwala and Zimbabwean musician and comedian Freddy Manjalima well known as Kapfupi is now in the hands of local distributers where it is awaiting its launch.

The drama comedy, which has been in the incubator, is now a complete production and is expected to be presented to the public by the end of this month and it promises to be a potentially amazing production.

The drama trailer has already been released leaving the viewers in suspense crying out for more. Viewers are mainly looking forward to the outcome of the epic collaboration and the first appearance of Gwala - a well known musician who is not a stranger in the arts sector but a newcomer in the drama circle.

In an interview with Sunday Leisure the producer, director and main character in the drama comedy, Mthulisi Moyo said the response to the film was quite impressive and viewers from Zimbabwe who know him could not believe he was the one behind such a production.

He said he was motivated to work on more similar productions by the response from the people concerning his pending production.

He added that he already had a lot of ideas that he was planning to work on after he was done with Mahlalela.

"People from both Zimbabwe and South Africa are looking forward to this film mainly because of the unique but interesting combination that I have created. I have been motivated to do more productions of this kind and I already have a lot such ideas in the bag that I will work on after this one," said Moyo.

The magnificent production is waiting the final process and response from local distributors, Gramma and Zimbabwe Music Corporation so that a date for the launch could be set most probably at the end of the month.

Moyo also said he was working on having the drama comedy broadcast on ZTV and Mzansi Magic.

Kapfupi started off as a street theatre actor and graduated to drama where he further diversified into the music industry using his acting career as his launch pad.
