Sekurutau hits the ground running with 'Back from America' Historic Ndakabvakure

Zimbabwe's African Roots Music singer, sculptor cum-businessman Bryn Taurai Mteki a.k.a. Sekurutau continues with his "Back from America" tour celebrating the grand return to the big stage this Friday at Chinhoyi's Gwayagwaya Nightclub starting at 8pm until late. The gig follows hot on the heels of yet other sold outs concert in Mutare, Checheche and Chipinge where he partnered Obvious Mutani of the Sungano Express.
According to reports he rocked Mutare like never before with his sing along songs. Mteki who is more popularly known as Sekurutau had everyone chanting 'Pachedu' his trademark phrase as he belted out hit after hit.
Sekurutau also gave fans a foretaste of his upcoming album titled 'Ndakabvakure' that features the hits 'Inzwa' and 'Ndinongovhaira'.
For most people, Sekurutau is filling the void of traditional music with his African roots brand.
The award-winning sculptor is also keen on taking Zimbabwean music to the world through his art.
Performing with a live band, his repertoire comprises mbiras, keyboards, drums and guitars which make fans sway to the melody whether it's old or new songs. After the Gwayagwaya show, Sekurutau takes his act to Banket where he is scheduled to perform at Mapinga. Sekurutau was not available for comment but he posted a statement on his Sekurutau Fan Club page.
