The Three Kings comprising of Donald Nyoni (a.k.a) Donara, Fransis Tsuro (a.k.a) Fraz and Elton Chiwaka (a.k.a) Ma'Eli are the men behind the Iseqa Mabhilidi hit track. From the dusty streets of Gwabalanda they got themselves a two year record deal with Amavulindlela Ultimate Records, the first licensed record label in Bulawayo.
The Three Kings have been in studio since March working on their second album which will however be their first commercial. The album is now complete and ready for public consumption, having listened to the album it surely will be yet another serious public spectacle.
Some of their tracks really got me going, especially two of them namely; "Never Change", and "I just Wanna go" respectively.
"Never Change" is that kind of a song that when one is listening to, with or without concentration it is stored in to the memory. Having listened to it once, I sometimes find myself singing it without even making a conscious decision to do so. When I am talking to stereo type kind of People, I silently say the main lyric of the song
"Never change" and that usually triggers me to sing it. It has a mixture of English, Zulu and Isindebele lyrics and it is the Durban production type of a song mainly because of Donara's deep baritone African voice.
"I just Wanna Go" is surely the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, its mainly in English and has some Ndebele and Zulu lyrics. It's a deep, serious and emotional song that is universal and unisex in terms of audience. The content of the lyrics address mainly those that have been left by their loved ones and those that want to flee with their loved ones and the extent to which one can go to entice those loved ones. In the song they feature PRO an upcoming afrojazz young musician. My comment to it, is that it is just pure art and a must listen kind of a track.
"This album rocks, the production team and the Three Kings spent a lot of time working on it and I strongly believe it will rock the listeners. We of course had challenges but we managed to overcome all of them. The competition is stiff out there but I am convinced the boys met the standard that is if they did excide." Said Shephard Dube the Vice President of Amavulindlela Ultimate Records.
The full album will be released and launched on the 25th of August while "I Just Wanna Go" will be released as a single on the last week of July. Shephard Dube said "We will be releasing and launching the album on the 25th of August and releasing "I Just Wanna Go" single next week.
"As you know this is the first album of Amavulindlela Ultimate Records, we are very excited but we will not allow excitement to overshadow our business targets. As we speak DJ CY is in Studio working on his album." Added Dube
