A strip-tease performance that allowed revellers to put money in the underwear of two Airport Lounge Night Club strippers proved costly for the duo as they were arrested at the joint last Friday.
Brenda Chitsiga (21), and Candice Namatika (24), appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Rebecca Ushamba.
They were facing charges of contravening the Censorship and Entertainment Control Act (Prohibition of Public Entertainments not approved by the board). Chitsiga of Dzivaresekwa in Harare and Namatika of 1664 Sunningdale pleaded guilty to the charges.
Prosecutor Francisca Mukumbiri told the court that the pair possesses certificate 'C' from the Censorship Board which approves them to conduct strip tease dances in public places.
The court heard that on January 30 this year, Chitsiga was on duty at the Airport Lounge Night Club located along Airport Road in Harare.
She went on stage and started a raunchy tease performance before pulling one of the male patrons on to the stage.
Ms Mukumbiri told the court that Chitsiga started performing raunchy dance moves on the man, breaching one of the conditions set for raunchy teasing which prohibits physical contact between the artiste and the audience during performances.
Chitsiga was subsequently arrested by police officers on the spot.
The court heard that on the same night - Namatika - who was also on duty at the club went on stage and started her dance routines.
During the performance she allowed a male reveller to physically put money into her underwear, also breaching conditions which prohibit physical contact between her and patrons.
