Sinazo drops sizzling album

Bulawayo hailing afro pop group Sinazo has done it again. Sinazo has released a captivating 8 track album entitled 'Sinazo'. This comes hot on heels behind the previous release of sample singles that included the tracks, 'Dlozi Lami', 'Amabhubesi' and 'Abantu BeBosso' which went viral on Youtube, soundcloud and other music sources.
The group may still be a greenhorn in the music industry but without any shred of doubt, this is the group that, through music, will give voice to the voiceless and through dance will pass on courage to the faint of heart.
This is classy and accomplished album from Sinazo."Sinazo is the smartest pop stars of our times. We are here in the industry to stay and we will work sock out to give people the music that they yearn for," says Nkanyiso Kitane Dube, the classic kwaito rapper for Sinazo. I am an old school kwaito fan myself so the track "namhlanje ekuseni" is definitely one of my favourite tracks, especially that the song contains an added some classic flavours. New releases of old school kwaito are rare nowadays. So "Namhlanje ekuseni" is a special song", added Kitane a.k.a Dr Kii.
But my word, what shines is producer, Tha Vyrass's's ability to put a bowtie on pop through arrangements that grab your imagination and bore into your cerebellum. Grooves are both melancholic and head-nodding on 'Mama don't Cry', basslines come alive on the title track 'Sinazo'. The songs features Duduzile Sibanda of Nobuntu fame, currently engaged on a European tour.
The best you can say is that Sinazo has created, hands down, one of the biggest and best pop albums of the year. Asked on Sinazo's main goal, group member Lorin Lolo Sibanda says "Sinazo is here to rock n roll and to give you nothing but the best. Sizolijabulisa ngoba ngumsebenzi wethu. And please we need your support. Like they say in some slogans, We are because you are."
Everything is lipgloss-slick, but what really makes this album pop is the songwriting. These 8 tracks are packed with precision-tooled choruses and nifty hooks: The track 'Sinazo' led by non other than Duduzile, grabs hold with a cheerleader-style intro while the high-pitched vocal effect on 'Shumba Resango' is irresistible. 'Shumba Resango' is a Shona traditional beat featuring Ice 'N' Rose's Macdonald Mataya a.k.a Thadoh, who also is working with GT and Nonsi on an album coming out next year . There's even a strange interlude where a song emerges that turns into a baroque ode to penetration. And that's before you factor in 'Amathamsanqa' a song that takes the listener way to the imaginary Disney land of the supernatural.
The song Abantu BeBosso is a well timed vocal arrangement syncronised with some poetic justice from the UK based Ndebele poet Slyvester Isilo Sibanda. "Abantu beBosso is a song I started writing after the tragic death of the Highlanders legend Adam Ndlovu as a special tribute to him. When I got a text from a friend that Adam had died I was shocked and could not express my feelings except in song," Said Titshabona Tish Ncube, the group creator. Ncube said he became so emotional on receiving the news that his football idol Adam had passed on, adding that it was the very week he (Adam) was supposed to visit his home area in the Sigangatsha area of Kezi to scout for talent and had hoped that his younger brother Reagan was going to be picked.
"Things just fell apart not only for the entire Bosso followers but for us as a family too as Reagan's dream of a date with the football legend was shattered. This is how the song Abantu beBosso was written. I have written many songs, books and articles but every time I listen to Abantu beBosso I feel very emotional," said Ncube.
The group is currently busy organising a show dubbed The JZ Moyo and Friends Re-union gig to be held in Yeovil Johannesburg in April 2015. "It will be unique and probably a mother of shows." said Tish. The show wil be a frank dedication to former JZ Moyo High School students in West Nicholson who the majority are plying their trade in Johannesburg, South Africa and have been calling for a re union party for ages. "The show will be a great opportunity for the former JZ Moyo students to re unite and have fun." Said Tish. "There will be a lot going on. Non stop entertainment, live performances from Sinazo and other groups and djs spinning the wheels, prizes to be won, speeches and many more. It shall be a family friendly event too. And for many JZ students and their friends will have to inquire about advance tickets from Thembani Funi in Johannesburg who will be our organising secretary." Emphases Tish Malaba. Advance tickets will be cheaper so it wont be a bad idea to grab yours sooner than late. They will be available on computicket too.
