03 Feb 2015 at 17:20hrs | Views
Music group Sinazo, under the Malaba Productions badge, is to host an old school gig and album launch in Johannesburg on the 18th April 2015. As the poetic rhyme goes,
On with the dance! let joy be unconfined;
No sleep till morn, when Youth and Pleasure meet
To chase the glowing hours with flying feet.
The JZ Moyo themed show will start at 7pm till late and is set to be the start to an annual event. Sinazo director, Mr Titshabona Ncube said of the scheduled appearance: "Its great news and its going to be a massive show, especially that the show will mainly aim at re uniting former JZ Moyo students. The reason why this show was tagged a JZ moyo narrative is because the original Sinazo, then known as the Tish Trompies, have their root foundation at JZ Moyo High School in the Zimfeb's Majoda Farm. The 90s troupe consisted of six extremely multi talented students who became an instant hit during school weekends entertainment. If my memory serves me well, the Tish Trompies comprised Viola Sithole, Precious Ngwenya, Charmaine Phiri, Asithule Ndlovu, Tholakele Khumalo and Mduduzi."
As one, a Abdul Kalam once said, great dreams of great dreamers are always transcended. When the Tish Trompies started as just a leisure outfit, little did those kids notice that they actually had given birth to a perenial dream that was never to die. Therefore it would be difficult to find a more appropriate sobriquet for the former JZ Moyo students. So let all former JZ Moyo students, their friends and families gather and converge at Parosa Club located at 33 Isipingop, South Belevue in Yeovil johannesburg on the 18 April 2015.
"We do not want to leave anyone out, JZ Moyo or non JZ. This is going to be an open, friendly and public event, hence it won't matter which school you attended. So you all brothers and sisters out there you are all welcome to this inaugural JZ Moyo themed but open event." Emphasised Mr Ncube.
Everyone's attention should be drawn to the fact that tickets will be sold well in advance of the show date. Advance Tickets sell at R50 single and R90 double. At door tickets will sell at R60 single and R100 double. As an incentive to buy tickets in advance, there will be a R1000 raffle winner-take-all for advance double ticket holders only. For details revellers should contact organising secretary Thembani Funi on +2714416044.
Tony Robbins' popular adage that we aren't in an information age but we are in an entertainment age will be lively enacted on the day as a plethora of live entertainment is already scheduled. There will be live performances from the afro pop group SINAZO aka The Tish Trompies, Nkosi Tjilimwe, a rhumba maestro and Dr Kii an upcoming Kwaito star.
With Dj Tish behind the decks, an hour of Strictly Old School Kwaito will be on offering with the sole aim to deliberately reminisce the good old Majoda Farm days. A feature guest appearance by Angela Sibanda, the soupie actor of e-tv, Scandal fame is going to give a motivational speech and Joshua Mhambi has been scheduled for the special day.
Former 'A' Level Divinity teacher, sportsmaster and coach Mr Ncube who will double as host and Master of Ceremony of the day will kindly donate copies of his sensationally popular novel Igazi Labafo to current JZ Moyo students. Igazi Labafo is a novel that depicts how individual characters can be shaped by the environment they find themselves in. It furthermore highlights how an insatiable appetite for money can lead to an individual's demise. Written in dominantly Nguni, the novel tracks the life of Mpundule, a character who is a victim of stereotyping and tribal prejudice who finds himself trapped in a system with no leniency. On arrival in Johannesburg, he finds himself fighting for survival. Fateful circumstances become a factor for him joining a Mafia style criminal gang, and, in this vicious circle, he discovers that no matter how fast he can run his life, he just cannot hide from predestination - a typical tragic hero.
Sinazo has previously released a captivating debut 8 track album entitled 'Sinazo' which has been winning fans in the diaspora as well as back home, and are currently working on another scintillating project featuring a potentially hit track called Bukalanga currently being produced in collaboration with DJ DashZimbabwe.
The album entitled Sinazo came hot on heels behind the previous release of sample singles that included the tracks, 'Dlozi Lami', 'Amabhubesi' and 'Abantu BeBosso' which went viral on Youtube, onine radio stations and other music sources. Sinazo are a determined quartet on a mission to inject, create and and maintain a new style of alternative afropop. In their debut album everything is lipgloss-slick, but what really makes this album pop is the songwriting. These 8 tracks are packed with precision-tooled choruses and nifty hooks.
This promises to be an immersely exciting evening for the audience and likely to give greatest pleasure to those who will spare their precious time to come for the album launch as well as the revival of old Majoda Farm days. And the night shall be filled with music, and the cares that infest the day shall fold their tents like the Arabs, for, as Dennis Waitley teaches, happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude. So all roads should lead to Parosa. 33 Isipingop, Belevue South Yeovil joburg on the 18th April 2015, 7pm till late.
