SUNGURA ace Alick Macheso is releasing his new album Tsoka Dzerwendo on Monday on cassette and online.
The album would be sold for just $1 in a bid to counter pirated versions.
"The album is for them (fans) and that is why we decoded to charge the same price ($1) with the pirated ones.
"The money we are going to realize will not even cover the expenses we met in coming up with the CDs but we are sacrificing for our fans".
Macheso's manager Tich Makahamadze said the online platform is meant to cater for fans in the Diaspora.
"We have received requests from some of our local fans that they want the album to be available on cassettes and as a way of showing gratitude to our paymasters, who have stood with us despite starving them for about three years, we saw it fit to have the album on cassettes," Makahamadze said.
"We are still working on the number of cassettes, although we had an experience of a bigger run on cassettes more than CDs previously.
"After conducting our research, we have established that we still have a significant number of fans who play cassettes, so we must not let them down."
Tracks to be featured on the album are Baba, Kurarama Inyasha, Gungwa, Wandirangaridza, Mude Mude and Munyaradzi, all inspired by people's social life in their day to day living.
The Madhawu hitmaker has been a victim of piracy, with his albums Kwatakabva Mitunhu (Kure Kwekure), Ndezvashe, Vapupuri Pupurai and Zvinoda Kutendwa being pirated before they were released.
