Zim Monica nominated for GGM Awards

JOHANNESBURG: The Zimbabwean-born Gospel Artist Monica Ncube has been nominated for GGM Awards.
It seems like the Heavens are now opened for her musical career and is destined to reach the peak in her ministry. The nomination is like icing sugar to the cake. She is a rising star of stars in the Gospel music and force to be reckoned with.
One would be persuaded to say that this nomination is confirmation that she is on the right track. Recently Monica launched her second album in August and enjoyed a full house of fans and fellow musician. While she is still on cloud nine with the success of the launch. Now it has been capped with something better than her CD launch, in terms of audience and the magnitude.
This will add to the Artist's stature and expose her to the new scenes. Monica has worked tireless trying to breaking into new grounds. This nomination would mean a lot to any upcoming artist and hopefully, will certainly award her with an opportunity to reach those that are far off. The event will serve her well since she has started a relentless campaign to push her music sales.
The event is organised by Big Idea Promotions and Gauteng Gospel Music Awards. Their aim as organisers is to "Unlock full potential for success & achievement. Empowering gospel artists, rewarding commitment & excellence, recognising gifts & talents in gospel music!"
This is where an artist like Monica fits in. She is a sensational singer with a lot of potentials to reach the skies provided she is supported. Her debut Album titled "Mount Calvary," announced her arrival Gospel music industry and it still resounding even today. Mount Calvary is a 10 track album and Mount Calvary being the hit song.
She has been done interviews with ZBC TV and radio stations with the intentions to reach as many people as she could through these mediums. Her excellence in what she does has made her to perform and share the stage with heavyweights of Gospel music which include the likes of Shongwe and khuphuka, the legend Derik Ndzimande and France Dlamini.
With much determination, keeping her on the horizons she managed to present another sizzling second album. It is an 11 track album titled "Isi-staff member seZulu". The offer has powerful tracks such as "Savelelwa," "Mama ngiyabonga," and "Qhekeza amaZulu." She performed Savela and had everyone dancing at Zidafo Gospel Festival.
Switchbod Arts Magazine caught up with Monica that she recount about the awards. She confirmed, "yes, I am nominated at Gauteng Gospel music Awards. I cannot tell how I got nominated, all can say is it is God's grace. I did my part which is to make music and doing it wholeheartedly. I have been totally blown away because I got two nominees. The first category is Best Gospel album and Best Female artist."
Switchbod learns that there has been a protracted cry by many people that female artists are lagging behind in the music industry but with the likes of Monica, the game is about to change. "It shows that people see and take notice of what I am doing. Moreover, it also means that the message contained in the music has been heard as well. Even to me as a person, it is an encouragement and an addition my credentials as a Gospel artist," said Monica beaming with joy.
