JOHANNESBURG - When Gift Lihlohonolo Ndlovu teamed up with his friends Reed Moyo and Lloyd Phiri at school and formed a choir called 3 Cousins that sang at churches, less did he (Ndlovu) know that he was going to find himself majoring in house music.
Bhadilah, a nickname he got after someone failed to say "bhanda langa ligayi? ( where is my belt?"), as Ndlovu is known in music spheres, loved music at a tender age of eight. He used to make his guitars using cooking oil tins. He ventured into music in year 2013 while he was doing his Advanced level at J.Z. Moyo High school.
The upcoming house music star has named his band after his nickname, Bhadilah. He has so far released one album called " African child." He told Switchbod Arts Magazine that his hit song "Dzungudza" will drive house music lovers crazy.
His second album is being on the cards and he is busy working on it. He rates Professor Langa of Kalawa Jamzee highly and he wishes to emulate him. Above all he wishes to see himself in Kalawa Jamzee's stables as a professional singer. "I like Professor Langa, he is my role model. I wish to follow his footsteps and build my name in house music. God knows what I want and he will never disappoint me because he is my saviour always . He has never failed me".
Bhadilah has a hectic schedule ahead of him. He wants to avail himself to his supporters because he believes that they are the ones who can push him to a higher level as per his wishes. "Things look good so far. In the near future I will launch my hit song "Dzungudza" which features Mzansi's Blackmoon. Thereafter I will be performing here in Beit Bridge at a show named "Pens Down Gig in early December."
Like any other artist who understands the role played by dancers, Bhadilah is searching for boys and girls, especially school leavers, to dance for him. Though he does not have enough funds for now,but he believes that those who will join him for dancing will be saved from wandering everywhere and end up committing criminal offences. "I want to recruit girls and boys, especially school lovers, to join me as dancers. Keeping them busy might be the right medicine that will save them from indulging in criminal activities", the Beit Bridge house music star stated.
