SOUTH AFRICAN group Mi Casa, who were scheduled to perform in Harare on Friday last week, will now perform at the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) next month, the festival's spokesperson Tafadzwa Simba has said.

"Hifa had already engaged (as opposed to is engaging) Mi Casa and had done so a long while back," he said.

"They will perform on Telecel Main Stage on Coca-Cola Day (Saturday May 4) at 11pm."

Simba said the group would collaborate with Ammara Brown.

The songstress, daughter of the late veteran musician Andy Brown, said she was humbled by the opportunity to share the stage with Mi Casa.

The former Idols finalists has made huge strides in her career following her father's death last year. She was among the supporting acts to P Square during last year's Lion Larger Summer Beer Festival. At the show she wowed revellers with a polished act and since then, she has not stopped.

"Like I had promised initially that I would perform the song Mafaro last week, I will now be performing it at Hifa. The song is special for me since it was the last recording I did with my father," Amara said.

She said the dance song will be released for radio soon, but will only be performed for the first time at Hifa. Max Mugaba of May 7 Entertainment, who failed to bring in Mi Casa last week, said they had done all that was required of them by their agent.

"We did what we could to ensure that the concert went ahead and we are in the process of finding where exactly we fell short on the agreement," said Mugaba.

"We are engaging our agent and relevant authorities to find recourse to this predicament as we believe we met our end of the bargain."
