DSTV viewers in Zimbabwe can win cash prizes of US$7 000 a week over the next 11 weeks, in a new subscriber competition called DStv Rewards. All paid-up DStv subscribers - regardless of which bouquet they subscribe to - are automatically entered into the continental competition, which runs from February 5-April 10.
"The only qualification is that subscribers must be continuously connected and paid up," said Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe.
MultiChoice Africa is particularly pleased by the support it has received from across Africa and wishes to express its gratitude that consumers continue to choose DStv for its diverse range of bouquets and channels.
"Always searching for new ways to add extra value to subscribers' enjoyment of their DStv experience, MultiChoice Africa is this year consolidating all subscriber loyalty competitions and initiatives into one portfolio called DStv Rewards."
She said DStv Rewards would include the cash prizes, as well as trip give-aways, luxury gifting, channel promotions and more activities.
"Winners of cash prizes will be filmed for inserts that will be screened during the hit game show "The Money Drop", now running on AfricaMagic and AfricaMagic Entertainment.
So not only could viewers win, but they could also be on TV," said Ms Dziva.
In addition, DStv audiences can win a full year's subscription to their current bouquet, just by watching their favourite shows.
"When you see a blue DStv Rewards box pop up on screen, make sure you SMS the competition hotline, details of which will be onscreen and at www.dstv.com, giving your name. It's that easy to win."
Dziva said there would definitely be winners from Zimbabwe, because MultiChoice Africa would be drawing winners from all its key markets, of which Zimbabwe is one.
"One word of advice to subscribers: Make sure your contact details are updated on your DStv account so that if you win you will get the news quickly," she said.
