Zimbabwe's comedy industry continues to break new ground with the latest being able to secure a prime slot to be aired on Mzansi Magic.
Titled Zim Comedy Live, the programme will feature Zimbabwean comedian live on stage.
Producer of the show, Joe Njagu said they started shooting the DVD last Sunday.
"It is true that we have been given a slot on Mzansi Magic and we are currently shooting the DVD. We have a resident comedian Simba the Comic King but other comedians rotate on a weekly basis. We started with Doc Vikela and this week, we have Cde Fatso, Tateguru and Uncle Sam," he said.
Njagu revealed that comedians will pocket some rich pickings from the airing of the comedy.
Mzansi Magic, the home of Bubblegum movies, is constantly on the lookout for new productions.
Bubblegum movies are original, self-contained and entertaining stories inspired by the realities and living conditions of ordinary black Southern African countries.
These movies serve as an entertaining snapshot of the achievements, challenges, hopes, despairs and dreams of ordinary people.
The company looks for stories set against either a township or a peri-urban setup in the genres of romantic-comedy, action-comedy, drama-comedy, horror-comedy and melodrama.
The scripts must be suitable for family viewing and for a target audience of black youth (upper and lower middle class) aged between 25 and 35 years, be written in English and should aim to trigger public debates.
