The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting religious tourism in Zimbabwe, highlighting the upcoming Benny Hinn Crusade as a major milestone.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the ministry announced that Zimbabwe continues to elevate religious tourism, with the three-day Benny Hinn Crusade - scheduled for 10 to 12 October 2025 at The Miracle Grounds in Ashdown Park—set to draw thousands of attendees.

"The founder of Heartfelt International Ministries, Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe - whose ministry now boasts over 15,000 congregants nationwide - alongside Dr Doorn Marie, Missions Director of Benny Hinn International Crusades, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Barbara Rwodzi, ahead of the event," the ministry posted.

The crusade is expected to attract approximately 45,000 attendees, underscoring its significance as a flagship religious tourism event.

"The meeting reflects the Ministry's active collaboration with faith-based organizations to ensure the successful hosting of large-scale events, providing both domestic and international tourists with a memorable experience," the ministry added.

Religious tourism, the ministry noted, contributes to economic growth by supporting local industries such as food, transport, accommodation, and energy - creating jobs and promoting enterprise development.

"This reinforces Zimbabwe's reputation as a welcoming destination where faith, culture, and hospitality converge."

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Information, Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Hon Tatenda Mavetera.
