Contrary to Mzansi News reports that the South African popular gospel artist Lundi Tyamara has died, Drum Magazine has dispelled the news indicating that the report was fake as the singer is recovering in hospital.

The Drum reported that this morning, Mzansi woke up to a bogus news report suggesting that gospel star Lundi Tyamara has died.

"However, DRUM can confirm that the prince of gospel is alive and recovering in hospital," Drum reported.

His manager, Anele Hlazo, dismissed the rumours, saying: "Lundi is not dead. He is recovering well in hospital, and I just spoke to him."

"On Tuesday, we broke the news that the Mphefumlo Wami hit maker has been fighting for his life for more than a month in a Johannesburg hospital. He's reportedly suffering from abdominal tuberculosis, chest pains and a liver problem," Drum reported.

Lundi spent his birthday, Christmas and New Year in hospital, but Anele says he is out of danger and his fans should not worry.

Mzansi news online had reported that Lundi Tyamara who has been admitted at a hospital since last year has reportedly  died after suffering from multiple diseases including an_al cancer.

The online quoted a source as saying "He has not been looking well at all but we are praying that he now rests in peace. He has been suffering from abdominal tuberculosis, chest pains and he has had a liver problem for a while,"

Lundi apparently spent his birthday (16 December), Christmas and New Year in hospital, and is still there "fighting for his life".

The nameless source by the online states that Lundi, who has been dubbed the "prince of gospel" and the "prodigal son of gospel", has also been experiencing breathing problems prior to his death.

"I knew he would not survive for another few days after being released from hospital. It is important that people, especially artists, start taking a good care of themselves and their health. Let's all pray for his soul now as he has gone to meet his creator, it's so sad that we've lost him given the fact that we lost another gospel star ‘Sfiso Ncwane' last year in December," the nameless source is quoted online.

Lundi started his solo career in 1998 and he is known for many gospel hits such as Mphefumlo Wami, Mvuleleni Angene, Mniku'dumo, Khuluma Nabo and Inkosi' Iyayazi.
However Drum Magazine and Lundi's manager have dismissed the reports as lies.
