Zimbabwean man sort in connection with the death of his wife in South Africa

South African police believe a 24-year-old woman, killed when she was hit by a car allegedly driven by her estranged husband, was murdered.
Police are now seeking Zimbabwean Alexio Mukanda, 26, whose on the run, in connection with the death of his wife, Rejoice Giyane, who was killed on Wednesday in Rust-en-Vrede Street in Ridgeworth, Bellville.
Police believe Mukanda may have fled the Western Cape and could be on his way to Zimbabwe.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer November Filander said Mukanda, who lives in Khayelitsha, followed her in a friend's car to her workplace in Bellville and waited until she left.
"When Giyane finished work she walked in the direction of the bus stop. Mukanda wanted her to get into the vehicle, but she refused. She then proceeded to walk towards the bus stop."
He said Mukanda drove at her, knocking her over, and then drove the car into a tree before fleeing on foot.
A severely injured Giyane was rushed to hospital where she later died.
Filander said: "We suspect that Mukanda may have fled the Western Cape, and might be on his way to Zimbabwe. We have alerted border patrol to be on the lookout for him."
