INKATHA Freedom Party founder and President Dr. Mangosuthu Buthelezi left South African Parliamentarians shocked as he quoted verbatim an old admission Nelson Mandela made years ago about trying to destroy him and admitting failure. This was said during a Parliamentary session to honour Nelson Mandela.
Buthelezi said Mandela made an admission in April 2002, he said, "We have used every ammunition to destroy Buthelezi and we have failed, he is still there he is a formidable survivor, we cannot ignore him."
Buthelezi also referenced the confrontations between Inkatha Freedom Party and the ANC in the 70s.
Buthulezi also quoted Mandela as saying "Buthulezi is a freedom fighter in his own right".
After the controversial quotes, Buthelezi urged everyone who has anyone against Madiba to forgive him because he was a fellow human being.
Buthelezi's words stirred up a lot of emotion and the leader of the house had to call the house to order.
Buthelezi also said, "Madiba was not only my leader but proved to be a true friend."
"The Mandela chapter is only a preface pointing us to a story yet to come," said Buthelezi.
"Let us remember his passion for reconciliation, his honesty, boldness and his capacity for forgiveness," says Buthelezi and he quoted verbatim to illustrate the honesty.
