A Zimbabwean exhibitor who show cased her business in Botswana during the recent Global Expo said he will continue taking part at the fair as his business has grown over the last three years that he showcased his products.
The Voice reported that the exhibitor who only identified himself as Marco of House of Sandals said he has been making sandals for the past 12 years and believes that since coming to the Expo, his business has grown and improves every time he returns to his home country as he would have received orders from new and old customers.
"With my products you can never go wrong because I believe in quality. I use real leather in all my products and I am not surprised that my sandals, belts and bags are selling," he said adding that he is looking forward to next year's expo.
He applauded Botswana Investment Trade Centre for coming up with the expo that gives outsiders a chance to showcase their products to the local market.
He said the expo is very important especially to them as small business men and women because they get to network and learn from each other.
He was however was not happy with the trouble he went through at the border saying the process to clear him and his goods was too long and there was no co-relation between the Zimbabwe and Botswana border.
"The fact that I am here at the expense of Zimbabwe government, who were invited by the Botswana government I expected a better service because we are not mere visitors. Accommodation is also a very expensive and does not accommodate us as small business men. To come here is a hustle, to find suitable accommodation is a hustle and let alone to get a permit to start a business," said Marco.
This year expo showcased product agricultural products, textiles and garments, construction materials, electrical goods and appliances among others.
