Dead son haunts father

A man from Edfumbe in Kwazulu Natal, Zwelakhe Buthelezi (62) has claimed that his late son visits him through terrible dreams, asking to be buried.
This was after a body of a six-year-old boy was found without a head last December. This was after Zwelakhe's son, Khanyisani Khumalo, had been missing for two weeks.
Daily Sun reported that Zwelakhe believes that's his son but a burial cannot take place until DNA results prove the body is indeed that of young Khanyisani.
And Zwelakhe, from Edumbe in northwestern KZN, has been waiting for a whole year. Khanyisani disappeared on 14 December last year.
The headless body was found 14 days later in a small swamp in the area.
"My son went missing when he joined a group of older boys who went to fetch cows in the veld," said Zwelakhe. "He disappeared while he waited for them on the side of the road while they went to collect cows on the other side of the mountain where he wouldn't be able to climb."
Zwelakhe said the boys rushed home to report that Khanyisani had gone missing and villagers immediately started searching for him. He said his son's mother abandoned the mourning after three months. He has not been in contact with her since.
"Each day is a mission. I don't know what is causing the results to delay this long. We were told it does not take even a month but we have lost hope," he said. "In the dreams he tells me that he is not resting where he is. He asks me to put him in a dignified resting place."
Major Thulani Zwane confirmed that a case of murder was opened at Vryheid Police Station. He said DNA results are still pending.
"In such cases we work with the Forensic Science Laboratory in Pretoria and we have sent them an enquiry regarding the matter but they haven't responded yet," said Zwane.
