THE Livingstone magistrate's court has found a 34-year-old Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) human resource officer for the Livingstone branch with a case to answer for squeezing his workmate's private organs.
Zambia's Dally Mail reported that both were employed by ZAWA, which has transformed to the Department of Wildlife and Game Parks in the Ministry of Tourism and Arts.
Reuben Chikumba is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Magistrate Benjamin Mwelwa told Chikumba a prima facie case had been proved against him and that he would be put on his defence.
It is alleged that Chikumba of Nottie-brode area assaulted ZAWA public prosecutor Nosiku Linenga on September 4 this year.
Linenga, 37, had earlier testified that Chikumba squeezed and pulled his private parts during a dispute and later facilitated his dismissal from employment.
Linenga told a packed court that he has since been dismissed following the incident on charges of incompetence by ZAWA management, which includes Chikumba.
He told the court that on the fateful day he sent the office assistant to photocopy some office documents at a nearby business centre but he was intercepted by Chikumba.
Linenga explained that after asking Chikumba over his action, he said the office assistant reported to him and that he (Linenga) had no right to question his (Chikumba's) actions.
"He said I had no right to question him over such matters and that I was stupid, an imbecile and an idiot," he said
Linenga said he told Chikumba to stop uttering insults.
"After I told him that, he stood up and told me that he would beat me, and that's how he stood from where he was sitting and followed me to my table and pulled my neck-tie to the extent of squeezing my neck," he said.
Linenga told court that after leaving the neck-tie which got torn, Chikumba squeezed the genitals and pulled them.
"Your honour, I felt pain and I was helpless. I bent downwards a bit and just heard him telling me that I was lucky it was at the office otherwise he would have strangled me," he testified.
