Desire Moyo, the Member of Parliament for Nkulumane, is preparing to host a celebratory gathering in recognition of his successful election to parliament during the August elections.
This event, named the Siyabonga Victory Citizens Celebration, is scheduled to take place next month.
Moyo emphasized that this occasion "will serve not only to commemorate our triumph but also to lay the groundwork for tangible development in our cherished constituency."
He went on to express his belief that it will be a time marked by unity, solidarity, and a renewed sense of optimism.
The legislator conveyed his deep gratitude to the constituents who entrusted him with their votes for the next five years.
Moyo also provided historical context, noting that Nkulumane derives its name from Prince Nkulumane, the firstborn son of the revered founder of pre-colonial Zimbabwe, King Mzilikazi. He spoke of the present as an opportunity to rouse the potential of Nkulumane, declaring, "Together, we shall awaken Nkulumane's grandeur, not only for Bulawayo, not only for Zimbabwe, but for the entire world to hear our triumphant anthem."
Under his leadership, Moyo promised that "your voices will be heard, your concerns addressed, and your aspirations realized."
He made a commitment to be a humble public servant, dedicated to representing all individuals, regardless of gender, race, creed, or political affiliation. He emphasized the importance of transcending differences, stating, "Together, we shall rise above our distinctions, for we are one community with a shared destiny."
Moyo called upon citizens to unite behind him as they embark on a new chapter for Nkulumane, one filled with potential, prosperity, and the unmistakable sound of progress.
