Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Torerayi Moyo, alongside Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister Owen Ncube, has officially commissioned the newly built Globe and Phoenix Primary School in Kwekwe - a US$600,000 project funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The modern facility includes seven classroom blocks, an administration building, ablution facilities, and a solar-powered borehole system with water tanks. It replaces the old school, which was decommissioned in 2023 due to ground instability caused by illegal mining.
Speaking at the commissioning, both ministers praised the initiative as a landmark example of public-private collaboration aligned with the Second Republic's education goals and Vision 2030. They emphasized the importance of inclusive development and access to quality education for all Zimbabwean children.
