Mpopoma High tops 2014 'A' Level results league in Bulawayo

POPOMA High School has the best 2014 Advanced Level examinations results in Bulawayo.
The reputable learning institution however seats at position 63 nationally according to a report released by the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC).
The results were released last week showing an 82 percent pass rate for school candidates, while private candidates recorded a 57 percent pass rate.
Mpopoma High School achieved a 96.15 percent pass rate, while Nkulumane High School which came second had a 92.86 percent pass rate and ranked 107 nationally.
Maranatha Adventist Secondary School came third with a 92 percent pass rate, while the Anglican run St. Columbas High School, a perennial top performer in the region, was ranked sixth with a 91.67 percent pass rate.
Founders High School achieved a 90.53 percent pass rate and is ranked seventh in the region.
Pumula High School claimed position eight with 89.74 percent pass rate with Magwegwe Secondary School coming at position nine with 89.09 percent pass rate.
Completing the top ten list is St. Bernard's Secondary School with 88.64 percent pass rate.
The report further revealed that most schools in the three Matabeleland provinces faired badly.
Two Matabeleland North based schools, Tshabanda Secondary School and Lusulu Scondary School, made it to the top performers list.
Tshabanda Secondary School, is the second best performing school in the region with 95.6 percent pass rate, while Lusulu Secondary School came fifth with 92 percent pass rate.
The best performing school in the whole Matabeleland region is Tongwe Government Secondary School, a boarding school in Beitbridge, which attained 100 percent pass rate and is ranked 16th nationally.
