A man in the US tried to enter the Erie County Courthouse while carrying more than a dozen bags of crack cocaine.
According to Erie police, 29-year-old William Gillespie was passing through the courthouse metal detector Wednesday morning when he emptied the contents of his pockets into a bowl provided for small metal objects.
An Erie County sheriff's deputy's suspicions were aroused when he observed Gillespie place a pill bottle in the bowl.
Upon further investigation, the deputy discovered the bottle contained not one, but 15 individually packaged rocks of crack cocaine.
Gillespie was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance, intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gillespie remains jailed in the Erie County Prison Friday, on a $15,000 bond.
