The ZAPU, North East and Yorkshire and Humberside (in Newcastle) districts will be hosting the commemoration of the late, who was lovingly well known in Zimbabwe, as Father Zimbabwe, Umdala Wethu, Chibwechitedza, Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo.
Dr Nkomo founded the National Democratic Party (NPD) in 1960, the NDP was banned by Smith's government and it was then replaced by Zimbabwe Africa Peoples Union (ZAPU), in 1961, also founded by Dr Joshua Nkomo. Father Zimabwe died on the 1st of July 2011; therefore, all Zimbabweans and well wishers in UK are invited to this historic event.
