Former Radio Zimbabwe popular presenter Eric Knight has organised a fundraising in Switzerland for Zimbabwe's health institutions.
Knight posted on his FaceBook Wall that they were determined to uplift others. "Ladies and Gentlemen, all Zimbabweans living in the beautiful country of Switzerland, I am personally inviting you to join me on the 12th of September in Geneva," he posted.
"With a commitment to help our countrymen back home, We are pleased to invite you to ZimHealth's gala fundraising event in Geneva on Saturday September 12. Preparations are in full swing for what promises to be a great evening with live music from Tunga of the Mafriq! Remember the the blockbuster 'Zvandinoda'!, a fabulous fashion show, a hot buffet of Zimbabwean cuisine, a cash bar, dancing and more."
He said the funds raised will help ZimHealth to buy much-needed material and support for clinics treating mothers and babies throughout Zimbabwe.
"Last year our special project was to contribute to the expansion of a polyclinic into a District Hospital including the construction of a new maternity theatre wing at Mabvuku, Harare," he said. "Our fundraising target for the wing was met and we are pleased to say that the project is progressing wonderfully thanks to your continued support. Some of our projects that we have asssisted and will continue to assist include Mbare Polyclinic, Phakama Polyclinic in Gwanda, Mkoba Polyclinic in Gweru, Nyamhunga Polyclinic, Rimuka Polyclinic and many more." Knight said people can visit the website for some of their projects.
"Please support our efforts again this year as we have new projects and support requests that we will be sharing with you. Come and enjoy a night out, knowing you'll be supporting a great cause," he said.
"Bring your friends, too! It's going to be a night to remember. I have personally undertaken that I shall not be paid even a cent and I shall always pledge my time, talents and resources for the goodwill of my country, my people and my nation's goodwill. All the proceeds will go to these worthy causes. Charity begins at home but does end there. It will be great to meet you there. Your presence will mean a lot."
