A fight over an empty beer bottle proved fatal after a Lower Gweru man was killed by his cousin.
Herbert Ncube (28) of Mbombela Village allegedly killed his cousin Velile Ncube (21) by stabbing him on the neck with an Okapi knife.
The pair were drinking beer at a tuckshop on December 23.
They where in the company of Josiah Matarutse and Tinashe Moyo after slaughtering a cow to celebrate Christmas.
According to reports, at around 5PM, the cousins quarreled over an empty beer bottle.
Matarutse and Moyo thought it was a light matter and went home, leaving the cousins still arguing, reports show.
Herbert lured Velile out of the tuckshop and stabbed him on the neck, reports further state.
Later that evening, Herbert arrived home and started shouting at Matarutse, Moyo and his aunt Skhumbuzile Ncube.
"He showed them his bloodied hands and a blood-stained silver knife with two blades. His T-shirt was drenched in blood. He said he would kill anyone who did not take him seriously," said the source.
Velile's body was found in a pool of blood on Saturday morning.
