Sprouting illegal dumpsites in most residential areas in Bulawayo have turned into prime scavenging zones for some people.
Today Bulawayo24.com spotted two teenage boys digging up trash in one of the city suburbs, eMganwini.
A passerby who spoke to Bulawayo24 said: "looking at how our country has become, these are not streetkids going through this dirt, they have homes but the situation is forcing them to go through rubbish. Mugabe should be ashamed of himself 'mhani'."
Many Zimbabweans have blamed 92-year-old president Mugabe for deliberately triggering the current crisis in the country.
Last year saw a lot of countrywide protests with activists calling for Mugabe to go.
Zimbabweans will be going for elections next year.
