The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) has warned of flooding in communities downstream major dams.
The water authority said about 100 dams countrywide are spilling.
"At least 100 of the 149 majors dams now spilling. This raises the risk of flooding for downstream communities" it posted on its official twitter account @zinwawater.
Almost all parts of the country have been experiencing heavy down pour in recent weeks.
Zinwa said the national dam level average now stands at 62,6%.
Tokwe-Mukorsi now 25% full and at that level it holds the most water when compared to other dams, including those already spilling, Zinwa said.
Mazowe Dam has risen to 69 % while Mutirikwi is now at 19,2% capacity.
Upper Ncema is said to be 74,3% and Lower Ncema is at 35,7% full
Early this week, the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) warned that a tropical cyclone might hit the country on Thursday with Matabeleland South, Masvingo and Manicaland provinces expected to be the hardest hit.
It said the cyclone may result in extreme flooding.
The MSD said in case of heavy rains and flooding, if possible, people should stay indoors and off the roads.
