The coronation of King Mzilikazi the second is on the cards with people having already pledged five beasts for the event.

Addressing people at Ko Snqo Guest House in Emganwini on Saturday  during meet the people campaign the self-imposed King Mzilikazi the second, Stanley Raphael Khumalo said the time has come for people of Matabeleland to have their king restored and some beasts have be donated for the event.

The coronation has nothing to do with the King Lobengula lineage as the then king killed his brother Prince Hlangabeza to ascend the throne.

According to Stanley Raphael Khumalo he is taking over the reins of his grandfather Mzilikazi and no one has voiced against the move as the Khumalos were reluctant to have DNA carried.

He has been to Harare to meet with the President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe about the restoration but failed to meet and finally wrote him a letter in 2015.

"I approached the Khumalos about my restoration and they argued that DNA tests should be carried.  I came forth and they were hesitant and they keep changing goal posts.

Hlangabeza was killed by king Lobengula and this was followed by a revolt by some regiments loyal to Hlangabeza. This resulted in one of the most powerful regiments among the Ndebele being destroyed and its commander, Mbiko Madlenya killed.

Khuhlumba Khumalo who is my great grandfather fled towards the modern Botswana border and found refuge in Mkupavula under a lady called MaTshuma.

Khuhlumba adopted the surname Tshuma.  Khuhlumba borne Mdlomelo who was the father to Saul Ngeza Tshuma who is my father and he is now late.

I have tried to meet with Mugabe but failed until I resorted in writing him a letter about the revival of the Ndebele kingdom. The letter was sent to him in 2015."

"The people of Matabeleland were killed by whites during the wars of 1896 and by Gukuraundi in the 1980s. They have suffered greatly under the current leadership and must be freed. When our forefathers were fought against the Whites in the 1890s there were already boundaries that were drawn by Jameson.

Even the United Nations has it. In 1923 the Whites joined Matabeleland with Mashonaland and made it one country. The Mat abele people and their Kingdom must be fully restored with her boundaries, resources and assets. The restoration will before the end of winter. Said Stanley.

Several artists groups that kept the gathering entertained included Black Mfolosi, Impumelelo Shining Stars, Hot House, and Imbongi Themba Dube who introduced the king.
