Man bashes wife at memorial service, blames evil spirits

In a bizarre incident a Monera man in Mvurwi went berserk and bashed his wife who was at a memorial service next door before dumping her at the gathering last Saturday.
Eye witness allege a man from Monera farm identified as Trymore aka Chief called his wife who was at a memorial service next door singing with other women and accused her of having an extra marital affair on the gathering.
"Chief called his wife who was part of the gathering and accused her of seeing other men at the gathering; he severely bashed her and came with her and her bags to dump her.
"No one asked him about his actions he started shouting obscene and throwing stones."
In rage Chief is reported to have grabbed a Gulewankulu drum that was used to entertain the gathering.
Members of Gulewankulu approached him and assaulted him with logs, he wailed in loud lamentation before one senior citizen ordered the mob to stop assaulting him.
When contacted for comment by Bulawayo24.com Chief confirmed the case and blamed the incident as spear headed by evil spirits.
"The incident happened I do not know what led me to behave like that, I believe these are just evil spirits tormenting me.
"Please my brother just forgive me because I was not my normal self," he said
