Bulawayo youths in fund-raising campaign for Mugabe rally

ZANU-PF Youth League in Bulawayo has launched a fundraising campaign to raise $50 000 to host the Presidential Youth Interface Rally that is expected to attract 50 000 people.
The Youth League's Bulawayo provincial secretary for Information and Publicity, Colleta Shoko, yesterday appealed to the business community and other well-wishers to assist them to raise the required money for the rally to be held at the end of this month.
The exact date for the rally to be held at White City Stadium, has not yet been announced.
"We're targeting to raise $50 000 for the Youth Presidential Interface Rally. We therefore appealing to the Bulawayo community to partner us in raising the required money," said Shoko.
She said members of the public can deposit their contributions into the party's CBZ bank account.
"We have sent letters to the business communities appealing for donations. For accountability purposes all the monetary donations can be deposited into the Zanu-PF Bulawayo Youth League CBZ Bank Account number 01224202390018. No cash donations should be handed to individuals," she said.
Shoko said for those who want to donate in kind they can go to the party's provincial offices.
She said only three people will lead the fundraising campaign and no monies must be given to individuals.
"The provincial Youth League chairperson Anna Magokhohloa, fundraising committee chairperson Ms Pelager Chimbishi and Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Bulawayo Eunice Nomthandazo Moyo's Personal Assistant, Mrs Sichelesile Moyo Ncube are the three people leading the fundraising campaign," she said.
Shoko said the province has already upped its game in preparation for the event.
She said the mobilisation team was on the ground and they were targeting 50 000 people to attend the event.
Last week, Zanu-PF politburo member Absolom Sikhosana challenged youths to make the provincial leaders proud by attracting a spectacular crowd on the rally day.
President Mugabe has been to eight provinces for the interface rallies which have been attracting huge crowds.
Bulawayo is the next to host the rally and will be followed by Harare province.
