Man knobkerries fellow villager

A 23-YEAR-OLD man from Hlanganani Village in Insiza, Matabeleland South province appeared in court facing charges of assaulting a fellow villager with a knobkerrie.
Godknows Nare appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing charges of assault.
He pleaded guilty and was remanded out of custody to 18 September for sentencing.
The court heard that on 8 August Nare had an argument with Remembrance Khumalo.
It is reported that the argument degenerated into a physical confrontation, when Nare allegedly retrieved a knobkerrie and struck Khumalo with it several times all over the body.
Khumalo suffered injuries as a result of the attack and was rushed to hospital where he received medical treatment.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Nare's arrest.
