Zimbabwe's opposition leader Nelson Chamisa who is disputing the results of the 23-24 August elections won by President Emmerson Mnangagwa has told his supporters that help was on the way. The Citizens Coalition for Change leader quoted Joshua 4:24.

"HELP IS ON THE WAY…Be of good cheer Zimbabwe !! ‘He did this so all the nations of the earth might know that the LORD's hand is powerful, and so you might fear the LORD your God forever.' Joshua 4:24"

Chamisa describing the polls as a sham, and called for fresh elections. The SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) chaired by former Zambian Vice President, Nevers Mumba, had already cast doubt on the credibility of the election in its preliminary report.

It is not clear as to what type of help he was expecting. Chamisa has deployed Jameson Timba and Gladys Hlatshwayo to selected SADC countries, to convince them that the 23 August 2023 election was rigged and therefore, should be nullified.

Chamisa's diplomatic offensive will reportedly start in South Africa, the regional economic powerhouse.
