Local businessman Tinashe Mutarisi has issued a stern warning to self-proclaimed prophet Passion Java, who is linked to the ruling Zanu-PF party, over what Mutarisi perceives as "attention-seeking behavior." Mutarisi made his sentiments public through a video posted on social media titled "The reply to Java."
In the video, Mutarisi calls out Passion Java and gospel rapper Mudiwa Hood for falsely claiming that they were sent by higher authorities to campaign against him and his business on behalf of Zanu-PF.
"Passion Java and Mudiwa called me yesterday claiming that they were sent by higher authorities to campaign against me and my business. It is a lie as no one has authorized or sent them, and it is simply their attention-seeking behavior," Mutarisi vehemently asserted.
He further clarified that it is not the government or the system that is against him but rather Java and his associates who, in Mutarisi's view, are envious and resort to self-promotion to gain recognition.
This response from the entrepreneur was prompted by a video posted by Passion Java, where he alleged that Mutarisi staged a fire incident at his factory in Graniteside, Harare, to make an insurance claim. In the fire, property worth thousands of dollars was destroyed.
Java accused Mutarisi of "fighting power" and insinuated that he was against the Zanu-PF government. Mutarisi responded by stating that Java and Mudiwa's actions stem from jealousy, as they cannot achieve the same level of love and respect from the people of Zimbabwe that he effortlessly garners.
Mudiwa also responded, urging Mutarisi to resolve his differences with Passion Java amicably.
"Why are you dragging me into this? I've repeatedly said you inspire me from our conversations. Getting you guys to talk and resolve your issues is my goal. Why do I have to look bad in this situation? My greatest crime is trying to get you guys on the phone. You are lying to people, and God knows," said Mudiwa.
