Journalist Hopewell Chin'ono has called on the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) to reveal members suspected of collaborating with Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim secretary-general responsible for recalling CCC Parliamentarians and councillors.

Chin'ono's appeal follows statements by CCC Deputy Spokesperson, Gift Ostallos Siziba, acknowledging the party's knowledge of members associated with Tshabangu but refusing to disclose their identities. Siziba asserted that these individuals, identified through intelligence, were allegedly colluding with Zanu-PF to undermine the CCC for personal gain. Chin'ono emphasized that exposing these individuals would alleviate half of the party's challenges and likened the failure to do so to allowing an infection to worsen.

In response, Chin'ono urged CCC to take a transparent approach, stating that revealing the truth would benefit the party and thwart Zanu-PF's agenda. He stressed the importance of naming and providing evidence against those undermining the people's will, emphasizing the impact on public confidence in electoral politics.

Rumors in the media implicated former Finance Minister Tendai Biti, former Industry and Commerce Minister Professor Welshman Ncube, and Kuwadzana East Member of Parliament Chalton Hwende as party officials collaborating with Tshabangu. Biti vehemently denied the allegations, expressing his commitment to the struggle for a better Zimbabwe and criticizing the party's strategic ambiguity.

Chin'ono highlighted the potential consequences of not revealing the truth, suggesting it benefits Zanu-PF and undermines the democratic struggle. He emphasized that the involvement of voters in the electoral process necessitates transparency. As of now, other accused individuals have not responded to the allegations made against them.
