Zuma cracks down on Duduzile

South African opposition MK leader Jacob Zuma has intervened in the public feud between his daughter, Duduzile Zuma, and party secretary-general Floyd Shivambu, demanding that she retract her insults and issue a formal apology.

Duduzile Zuma made headlines on social media last night after posting a series of scathing insults directed at Shivambu, calling him the "worst thing" to ever happen to the MK (Umkhonto we Sizwe). In a series of aggressive comments, she referred to him as "useless" and added a string of profanities, telling Shivambu, "fuck you" and "fuck off," in a post declaring that she was "not scared" of him. She also referred to him as a "bloody mafikizolo" (a derogatory term meaning newcomer) and implied that his status within the party was not deserving of respect.

Duduzile's outburst comes amid ongoing factional tensions within MK, a key opposition group, where infighting has been simmering for months. Her online tirade escalated these tensions and sparked outrage among party supporters and leaders.

In a swift response, Jacob Zuma issued a stern directive, ordering his daughter to remove the post and apologize unreservedly for her conduct. Zuma described the insults as "unacceptable, divisive, denigrating, and offensive" to the party and its members, emphasizing the need for unity within the ranks of MK.

"Her actions have been hurtful to the party's structures and leaders, and it is imperative that she makes amends," Zuma said. "Duduzile must issue an unconditional apology to Floyd Shivambu, the party's leadership, members, and all those who have been offended by her words. This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated."

In addition to the apology, Duduzile Zuma is expected to appear before the party's disciplinary committee to answer for her actions. Party officials have warned that failure to comply with the apology and disciplinary process may result in further sanctions.

Duduzile, however, seemed undeterred by her father's orders, expressing defiance on social media by stating, "They will expel me tomorrow... it is well with my soul. Okusalayo (in the end) Floyd is useless."

Her remarks have sent shockwaves through MK, with many party members expressing disappointment in the public outburst, calling it a stain on the party's image. As the situation unfolds, the MK leadership faces the challenge of managing the fallout from the incident and restoring unity within the organization.
