WAR veterans' leader Jabulani Sibanda last Friday slammed Zapu president Dr Dumiso Dabengwa, saying he portrays himself as the leader of Matabeleland following the footsteps of the late Vice-President Joshua Nkomo when he does not fit Father Zimbabwe's stature.
Giving a solidarity message at the Zanu-PF 11th Annual National Conference Sibanda said: "Dabengwa is not representing Matabeleland. He does not represent the Zapu that we all know. "Joshua Nkomo cannot be represented by someone who lost a constituency when he was a minister.
"He simply cannot fit in Nkomo's shoes. If they (new Zapu) found his footmarks, don't follow them, they are lost. Don't follow him. He is going backwards. He will never be like Joshua Nkomo. Those who follow him are counter-revolutionaries."
He said in the war veterans' nationwide mobilisation drive, he had seen that MDC-T was very provocative.
"MDC is extremely provocative" he said.
"But they find us extremely disciplined. MDC invades our meetings, but they come away empty-handed because they are empty-handed."
