Another MDC official resigns

ANOTHER MDC senior official, Peter Mukuchamano, who was a member of the party's national executive has left the party.
Mukuchamano was secretary for ICT, Science and Technology in the Welshman Ncube-led MDC party and was the party's parliamentary candidate for Mt Pleasant in the July 31 elections.
In his resignation letter written yesterday, November 5, Mukuchamano said: "It is not prudent for me to enumerate the reasons why I have reached this decision, but suffice to say I thank your person and contribution towards my political ambitions."
Mukuchamano, together with MDC-T's Jameson Timba are contesting the Mount Pleasant parliamentary election results, won by Jaison Pasadi of Zanu-PF. The pair alleges the elections were marred by irregularities. Their case continues at the High Court today.
All has not been well for MDC since the party's dismal performance in the harmonised elections in which they failed to win a single parliamentary seat. This dark patch comes amid reports that the opposition party had laid off its drivers and shut down some of its offices countrywide due to financial problems.
Party insiders told NewsDay yesterday that most of the officials who have resigned were disgruntled over alleged financial mismanagement and imposition of secretary-general Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga as parliamentary representative for Matabeleland South.
On Sunday, the party's secretary for international relations Sondon Stalin Mugaradziko also resigned joining former Insiza MP Malandu Ncube who resigned last week. The party's research director Qhubani Moyo resigned last month.
Both Ncube and Misihairabwi-Mushonga could not be reached for comment as their mobile phones went unanswered.
