BULAWAYO'S Christian Brothers College (CBC) dominated the 2013 Cambridge 'O' and 'A' Level examinations by producing the best five students in terms of results.
A CBC spokesperson, who declined to be named, said three boys - Bersal Williams, Tafadzwa Baye and Sizo Ncube - excelled in the 'O' Level exams while Clayton Mpofu and Nandipha Dube were honoured in the 'A' Level in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards ceremony held in Harare last month.
Williams (17) attained the highest marks in physical science in the country with 95%.
Baye (17) got the highest marks in economics with 95% while Ncube (17) attained the highest marks in the world in Zulu with 95%. Dube got 90% in Business Management.
Mpofu was the best student in the Cambridge 'A' Level Geography. The school's spokesperson said they were still celebrating the achievement because it was testimony to the hard work of both students and the staff.
"We are proud of the students as this is not just their individual achievement, but it also stands as a testimony of the college's academic excellence that has been made possible by both students and staff members," the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said this was not the first time CBC had produced outstanding results pointing out that in 2009, two students produced the best results in the world in design and technology and computer studies.
The students said they were happy with their achievements which would serve as a stepping stone to achieving a lot in life.
"What I have achieved is very amazing and motivating. It comes to me as a stepping stone to achieving my goals in life because now I can confidently testify that nothing is impossible," Ncube said.
Dube said the achievement meant everything to him because the exams were not easy, but he had worked hard.
