Tirivanhu Gumbo is congratulated by Raj Modi soon after winning a car at Choppies
LUCKY Bulawayo residents yesterday won various prizes including cars at the Choppies Easter promotion draw held at the Old Mutual Nkulumane shopping complex.

People who won cars included Liberty Mutsindze who walked away with a Toyota Vitz, Mthandazo Mathuthu (Toyota Vitz) and Clare Sibanda (Honda Fit).

Mathuthu defied the odds by winning himself a car and a bicycle in different draws.

"I am so excited. I thank Choppies and I don't believe this," an elated Mathuthu said.

Mutsindze said he was at a loss for words.

"This is totally unbelievable! My God, I have won a car. Oh, I thank you!," he said. Sibanda could not express herself as she was reduced to tears of joy. Choppies managing director Raj Modi promised a bigger competition next year saying it was a way of giving back to the community.

"As Choppies, we want to give a big applause to our valued customers and we promise to do more than that," he said.

"This is the way we are giving back to the community and we value our customers."

All retail shops formerly owned by Modi under Sai Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, have been rebranded to Choppies following the takeover of the business by Botswana's biggest retail firm Choppies Enterprises Limited last year.
