Family 'excommunicates' panties-to-priest man

FAMILY conflicts do not get any weirder. Hardly do families come as organised either.
A Bulawayo family has "excommunicated" one of its members, passing a no-confidence vote on him as the chairperson of the family's decision making body. His misdeed was bringing the family name and their company into disrepute. The Gondo family, in a statement yesterday, confirmed the suspension of Stewart Gondo and gave him "24 hours to appeal." Gondo Gondo, the family said, will take over as the chairperson of the family's Gondo Holdings with immediate effect.
The ousted Steward, was on Friday reported by our sister paper B-Metro to have taken his lover's undergarments to her pastor as proof of his affair with the woman. This was, in an apparent fit of rage, after the "rich" woman, who lifted him from his squalor, dumped him. His alleged shenanigans did not go down well with his family members who caucused to discuss his fate.
"After a lot of complaints from our clients, civic organisations and Zimbabwean women, we had an emergency caucus meeting. A vote-of-no-confidence has been passed against Steward Gondo, as the chairperson of the family politburo and Gondo Holdings. He has been found guilty of breaking rule 40 of subsection 2A; that's dragging the name of the family to the Press thereby tarnishing its image and integrity, for his own selfish gains. He is hereby suspended until further notice and he has only 24 hours to appeal," reads the statement.
The family also apologised to all the women who were affected by Steward's "unsupported act". Steward is said to have entered into a relationship with one Clara Gwekwerere, who moved him from Sizinda to a better house in Emganwini and went to the extent of giving him a car. Things turned nasty between the two, just a month into their relationship, when Steward, who knew that Gwekwerere was married, allegedly discovered she was cheating on him.
It is alleged that Steward, out of anger, took Gwekwerere's undergarments to her Roman Catholic priest as proof of her fornication.
Gwekwerere confirmed to B-Metro to have dated Steward but said she ended the relationship as she could not stand his violent streaks and abusive tendencies.
Steward and Gwekwerere are said to have met at a shebeen in Nkulumane where their ill-fated relationship started sometime in August this year.
